Legal Information

📃Legal Basis: Court Fees are determined according to Section 69 of the National Civil Procedure Code 2017 of Nepal.

👤Who Pays: Initially paid by the claimant, but the losing party may be ordered to reimburse the winner.

💰Payment Method: Court fees must be paid in cash. No other form of security is accepted.

⌛Payment Timing: Usually paid at case registration, but may be deferred until final judgment for financial hardship cases.

Example 1

Claim Amount: ₨ 20,000

Court Fee: ₨ 500

Fixed fee for amounts up to ₨ 25,000

Example 2

Claim Amount: ₨ 75,000

Court Fee: ₨ 2,625

₨500 + ₨1,250 + ₨875 (cumulative calculation)

Example 3

Claim Amount: ₨ 2,00,000

Court Fee: ₨ 5,500

All brackets applied cumulatively
